champ

With a name like Champ and two older brothers doting on you, what's not to smile about?! ;)

Hera

Remember this maternity session?  Well, here she is...and don't you love her name?

01 November 2011

wide awake...

I'm usually a sucker for sleepy newborn photos, but sometimes I just love one who is wide awake and taking in the world...welcome home, little one.

Welcome to the world, Lacey!!

24 November 2010

for Charity

You can't tell from the photo, but this one prefers to take photos awake. ;)  Sweet boy.

Weekend Links

Heidi and Finn patterns (I'm anxiously awaiting the headband tutorial)

I'm working on a hat for the baby, and after my botched attempt at the middle baby's hat, I'm always looking for ideas...this one reminds me of the one I tried, but may work better?

pumpkin cinnamon rolls - yummmm....

I love a fellow anti-Black-Friday-er (just made that word up, so don't try to spell check it. ;)

And I'm looking for some artwork for our playroom, which has completely bare walls at the moment.  Something reading or children's lit-themed, preferably.  I'm debating this one or this one - anyone have any other ideas?

And finally, another photo from the sweet baby in my last post, with a crotcheted newborn wrap from Jenster - etsy store here.

for Kathryn

a couple of weeks ago I had the privilege of photographing a home birth, and I have to say it was just about the most amazing thing I've ever witnessed (before you think I'm the worst mom ever, keep in mind that I had c-sections with all three of mine, so I didn't get to actually witness their birth).  Here's the sweet baby, and older brother who is going to give her a run for her money. ;)  Thank you for including me in such an amazing experience!

26 July 2010

from two years ago here...now she's a big sister to these sweet little twins...
time flies!

06 June 2010

just can't get enough...

Yep, doing a newborn session without three kids in tow seems to work much better, just in case you were wondering. ;)

Look at how she loves to hold her hands curled up by her face...

31 May 2010

I got one...

...between picking up lunch, the long drive out, and deciding to bring my entire family to meet my best friend's new one (in the middle of nap time, of course). Maybe not the most productive environment for a newborn session - ha! Fortunately my friend is coming over this weekend and I get another crack at it.

28 May 2010

welcome to the world, Abby...

...your arrival has been much anticipated.

17 April 2010

brand new

This is a sweet friend from our church and her new daughter. I remember when she would hold my middle baby and tell me how much she wanted one of her own, and here she is... congratulations on your beautiful baby girl! :)

13 February 2010

Just a couple more...

...of my friend's sweet baby. I'm finally getting her gallery up today (which is why I'm on maternity leave right now - it's taking me forever to proof just a few for her!! I would completely ruin my reputation if I were charging for sessions right now!! ;)

30 January 2010

Lashes

Yep, still on maternity leave. But a good friend just had her baby, and one look at those lashes I couldn't resist taking a few photos...

...can you blame me?! ;)

New

Isn't he just a yummy bundle of love? ;)

18 May 2009

brand new

Can I admit that I used to be a little bit afraid of newborn sessions? Now they're becoming my favorite. Especially when they're new. Really new. Less than ten days old new. Which seems crazy - what mother is in any state of mind to have photos taken the week after she's released from the hospital, is in the midst of sleep deprivation, and whose life has been turned upside-down? That's why I try to book newborn sessions when mom's still pregnant - because otherwise, let's face it - a newborn session turns into a 2-month session.

This is the baby of a friend of mine from high school. It was so good to see her, and meet this little one. He was so fresh, and sleepy, and easy to mold and move. Perfect. And she looked pretty darn good for having just had a baby. People used to mistake us for each other in high school and college when we ran in the same circles. They would ask me how Santa Barbara was (where she went to college). It was always such a compliment, because she was always one of those really cool girls. You know - confident but always nice, classy...ramble, ramble...thanks for letting me invade your home and lives with a brand new one. He was such a dream!

prayers for sweet baby's mom

This sweet girl is the youngest of three girls. Her parents moved here not long ago, and during the c-section to deliver her, mom got an infection, double pneumonia, and then a blood clot, all of which has kept mom in the hospital on and off since this little one was born. Mom is a total trooper - I can't imagine how difficult this would be, and it was so sweet to see dad, grandparents and kids pull together to make everything work at home without mommy. If you're a person who prays, lift up this family - that mom would heal and be able to go home SOON!!

Another set of twins

Can you believe it? These little girls had just been released from the NICU and were such troopers (as were mom and dad!) I love that twins seems happiest snuggled together...

29 September 2008

Just one for now...

I'm so behind right now, but wanted to share one from a newborn session...she was a great sleeper (have I mentioned that I LOVE to get them when they're two weeks or under?), and her parents were super laid-back, which always makes my job easier! Can I just tell you how jealous I am of all that hair!?! I promise to post more later...

02 September 2008

more twins

Just a few more...they slept a little more yesterday :)
