Five for Friday Finds

Whew! I managed to almost completely avoid Black Friday today - aside from a last minute trip to Target to get a hat for my oldest since we're going up to the mountains to cut down a tree (and my attempt to make a hat from a recycled wool sweater made him look like Napoleon). The madness! I don't know how people do it - get up in the middle of the night and fight the insane crowds.

Well, here are my "Black Friday" finds (well, really any Friday finds) - but you don't have to leave your living room to get them (insert sigh of relief)...

1. My slippers - these are going to be my fun hospital slippers, since I'll be camped out there for 3 days after the baby's born, and pacing the hospital floors after surgery. I got these from a local crocheter off etsy, and today put puffy fabric paint on the bottoms so I can avoid slipping and sliding on the hospital floors.

2. Fun pendant kits from craftfantastic.com, another local seller, but you can also get these online. If you're related to me, DON'T LOOK - I'm going to use photos of the kids and make them into Christmas ornaments for my family...

3. Burst of Color's Ann, who made my diaper bag/purse, snack bags and wallet (see post here) was at Hip Stitch's craft night last weekend (where I made my son's Napoleon hat), and she's making little girl purses, which are just smaller versions of my diaper bag/purse. I'm thinkin' I may have to get one for my daughter, who is really into purses and bags at the ripe old age of 18 months (where does she get this from?!?).

4. Great easy gift idea - House on Hill Road has a coffee cozy tutorial. I made several of these for gifts Friday night at Hip Stitch (yes, I know, my husband laughs that I'm still sewing with training wheels - someday I'll be brave enough to do some projects on my own).

5. My next project is going to be some embroidery gifts from this recently-purchased book - sheesh, I really hope people I know don't read my blog. None of my Christmas presents are going to be surprises this year!!

My apologies for no photos to go with this post, but well - nothing's done! My to-do list is a mile long, and the time is ticking away - ack!! Maybe if I get caught up the next few days before my life is turned upside down with our new family addition, I'll post some photos. You're right - not likely! ;)

Happy "Black Friday" everyone! ;)
