"Is your daily routine the same today as it was last week? How about last month? Are you eating the same foods? Going to the same places? Talking to the same people? Worrying about the same things? It's probably hard to pinpoint the little changes that have occurred over the last few months. Try this little experiment: At the beginning of each month, snap a self-portrait and take our easy quiz. You'll be surprised how much your life changes in just one year's time."
Also taken from Simple Scrapbooks magazine...I know some of you are ready to turn and run at the thought of a self-portrait (we women especially tend to be hard on ourselves and how we look in photos!) but TRY IT! Some of you are in the Flickr 365 self-portrait group - I applaud you (I don't know that I could keep up with a self-portrait every day, but I will try for once/mo.).
Let's see 'em - don't be shy! You can leave a comment with a link to your blog, or send photos to me and I'll post them here.
Here's mine for the month. I really wanted to get a self-portrait of me with my two kids, because I'm usually the one behind the camera, and this is what will change so much for me in the next year. It isn't easy to get a self-portrait with an infant and toddler, I tell ya! You can see most of me at least. Right now I'm working on going to the gym at least once a week, Starbucks chai latee is my splurge at Target when we go after naptime (it seems to be the easiest way to keep big brother away from baby sister!!), my worry right now is TIME (that probably won't change over the course of this year - ha!).
And the Polaroid - can you believe they aren't selling the film anymore? Not that I've used a Polaroid in years, but it was such a part of my growing up experience - I can't imagine life without it! You can get the digital version here, though - and although you don't get to shake the picture, it'll have to do I suppose.
Here's Beth's self-portrait...
