"Take a minute and think about all the commonplace objects you rely on to help you get through your daily routine: car keys, a paper cutter, your iPod, instant oatmeal, an electronic toothbrush...the list could go on and on. With a camera in hand (any camera will do - even the camera on your cell phone), take a quick walk through your house and snap five photos of objects you couldn't live without."
This idea was taken from Simple Scrapbooks Magazine. I'm a wanna-be scrapbooker - I just can never finish the darn things!! ;) They have some good ideas, though...and I'd love you to share. Add a comment with a link to your blog post, or send me a photo and I'll post it, or take a picture of your creativity journal and send that!
Here's mine...
#1 - my keys. I have a love/hate relationship with my keys. I need them, and obviously appreciate having a car so in that way, they're great. But I constantly lose them. Constantly. The wrist strap has helped some - at least I don't put my keys on top of my car as often as I used to. You'd be amazed the things I've put on top of my car to put my toddler in his car seat and then forgot, only to get halfway down the road and see something fly off the roof of my car. Bibles, notebooks, beverages, and even worms. Long story.
#2 - my planner. I can't do digital planners. Can't. I need paper and pencil for appointments and to-do lists. Maybe it's the satisfaction of physically checking items off my to-do list.
#3 - my coffee pot. I really like coffee. Well, not so much coffee. Flavored coffee with lots of flavored creamer and sugar. So coffee people don't really consider it to be coffee. ;)
#4 - my computer. Even though I don't use the planner on my computer, I am completely dependent on technology. What on earth did we do before the Internet? And when was the last time I held a World Book Encyclopedia?
#5 - my showers. I really do love these shampoos, and got them for Christmas, cause they're too expensive to buy with my regular budgeted money. But beyond the shampoo, I love to shower. I would never have made it in the middle ages when you didn't shower regularly. Is it the warm water? The smelly bath scrubs? The fact that neither of my children take showers yet so it's my time to myself? Who knows, but I would take 10 showers a day if I could (if I didn't have to apply makeup or do my hair afterwards).
Ok, your turn...let's see 'em!! :)
Here's Beth's post (I created a new page to post your exercises if you don't have them on your own blog so they don't get lost in this blog). Yea, Beth! :)
And here's one from an amazing photographer in Alaska, just in case you're ever looking for one! ;)
