I got the Fuji instant camera that makes credit card sized prints. I'm afraid to waste my film. I'm a huge dork.
$100 8X10s made my stomach turn a little. I'm not ready for AG. :)
I loved the art has to wait blog. So much that I dropped her a line (I pimped out your blog in it too).
Well, thanks for pimpin' out my blog, Carmela! ;) I love that post...so perfect for my life right now.
Oooh...I thought about the smaller fuji...use some of that film and show me!! ;)
I read Laurence Kim's article a little differently...I didn't think he was saying you HAD to be a higher-market photographer (there's a market for everyone...not everyone shops at Anthropologie, and not everyone eats at higher-end restaurants). But if you DO, you should also provide more - better service, more of an experience, better quality.
We went out to eat at Antiquities in Old Town. It's amazing the level of service you get there. I mean, it's expensive. We don't eat out there all the time. But our waiter was professional. He had one or two tables he attended (instead of 15). There was nothing on the menu that couldn't be adapted to your preference. It was a very different experience than eating at Chili's, as it should be. Chili's isn't trying to be high-end, McDonald's certainly isn't, and there's a market for them. But if you're going to be in the higher-end food market, what's going to set you apart? Antiquities has found it!!
We all have our place the problem is the middle is getting squeezed out I think. I love the instamatic, I really really want a point and shoot for my 365 but won't get one, unless I am very lucky and in fact I will likely have both bodies until they totally die .... but then again I don't want video in my camera either!
