Five on Friday

Maybe it's adjusting to three, but I'm feeling particularly disorganized and stressed. I still haven't figured out how my house will ever get clean. It's all I can do to keep the house somewhat picked up and laundry done. That's it. Vacuum? You've got to be kidding me. And with all of them home sick, I'm also having difficulty appreciating where we are right now. I want to cry that the baby is already three months old, but I also want my four-year-old to be less, well - four! So here are some random thoughts I've come across this week - some on organization, some on business, some on appreciating our kids for who they are...

1. Dreamin' of Downloads on Creative Mama - I love the weekly calendar and daily tasks FREE downloads - especially writing down how much water I'm drinking (hiding my head in shame...)

2. Another great post on creative mama - how to use baskets in your home. I love looking at photos of homes and studios to get ideas...

3. Overcoming Busy - hmmm...a good reminder to reevaluate the goals I've made this year and see how realistic they are. For example, keeping my house clean may not be realistic until my children leave home. Ok, well, maybe until they're in school.

4. Why I Hope All My Children Have Strong Wills on Steady Mom - I need to tape this to the door of my four-year-old's room. He was such an easy-going baby and toddler, we were actually worried he would be a doormat. Not to worry...

5. This Moment - a good reminder to appreciate each moment, even if seems like the millionth moment you're wiping noses, and dealing with tempter tantrums, and giving a nebulizer treatment to a sick baby.

And here's our moment...at three months old.

These are all great points and so so true. I think my house might be in order for five minutes a week -- if I am lucky. Usually though it's this room today another another day. It does go by fast way too fast.

I'm so happy you found my post helpful. My grandmother use to tell me if a mother had little ones and a spotless house, the little ones were being neglected. I remember having a baby and a four year old with toys and bottles and bibs everywhere. Now, they are 8 and 4 and although still little kids, and I have some more time for housework, sometimes I would love to go back and visit that time in our lives. Enjoy every moment!

3 months already! And I've already clicked on the new links so I can check out the good reads ... we do what we can do, right! And I can only imagine adjusting to three. One day you'll be giving me pointers!
